A child's face is partially visible through an empty can that reads "Redwood Empire Food Bank" and "Hunger in Sonoma County.

This is one of the oldest pieces I’m still featuring in my portfolio.  I just can’t get rid of it because it was my introduction into the uber-dedicated non-profit world of Sonoma County. I worked directly with David Goodman who had just gotten alarming statistics about our local hunger problem.  He wanted an emotive brochure that would show these facts and stats in a human way.   My photographer, Leslie Lindell, had the idea of photographing an earnest small child looking through an empty can as the cover.  Technically pulling this off was a struggle, but worth it!
